Ideas for decorating a loft

The element that distinguishes a loft is the ample space, the absence of dividing walls and the reminiscences of the industrial style. The materials are very important when decorating a loft, glass, cement and iron should be present to recreate the industrial feel. They also have place wood, stone and brick. Let's look at some ideas for decorating a loft.

When we think of loft, immediately comes to mind a site spacious and very bright, so the window must elaborate on these buildings. The windows must be comprehensive, as far as possible should go from floor to ceiling and the number is also important. The loft can be likened to a showcase where there is a significant visual exchange between the interior and exterior. One option is to place several very small windows of curved shapes that allow the entry of light without losing the wall and the privacy.

The floors are one of the emblematic elements in this style, always mounted on iron structures with metal floors or polished wood. Generally are designed to house the intimate spaces of the housing to the bedroom, to achieve a little privacy.

Furnishings should be added to this trend, although we can include parts of furniture style that harmonize with the rest of the decor. The Nordic style furnishings tend to be the most appropriate for the loft by its simplicity and purity of lines.

It is clear that the industrial style is not the most welcoming, therefore we must include details that provide comfort and minimize coldness to these environments. To achieve this we cannot resort to upholstery, choosing fabrics or fluffy furry as velvets, jacquards. A carpet of white long hair can give softness to the space and reduce the coldness of the flooring material.

Do not forget that a loft purist will have plenty of white, but this is not exclusive of other colors like black, blue and red, which can be used in details or furniture.

A cold wall of brick or stone can be tempered with a good wallpaper minimalist.

The kitchen loft is usually open and style kitchenette, with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops in steel, granite or wood and fitted wardrobes in white or gray steel.

The secret is in knowing how to combine, more than in the homogeneity. If you know harmonize different materials and accessories, then you can decorate a loft successfully.
