The oriental style never goes out of fashion. The positive energy,
serenity and wisdom of the Asian culture are components that favor the ambience
of the home, creating elegant spaces, quiet, thoughtful.
All of these
attributes were harmonized in this house of 1930 restored by the designer Pamela
Shamshiri, who was inspired by the wabi style\ -sabi of Japan, an aesthetic
simple, rustic, natural looking and unfinished, but merged well with modern
lines. With creativity and sensitivity, achieving a perfect balance between East
and West, rural and urban. A space for both meditate in solitude as family fun,
and above all, to rediscover the charm of simplicity. Even when it comes to a
house in the middle of a big city like Los Angeles
A house wabi-sabi step-by-step
Entry
The first thing that we
receive is an old ladder (which originate in the house in the late thirties)
restored with modern applications. There were small indoor plants, according to
the spirit naturalist of the wabi-sabi. The color palette also refers to the
nature, with a neutral sand color on floor and walls. The textile craft of
armchair combined with the colorful carpet. A large framed photograph gives a
touch and urban vintage at the same time.
The dining room
The eclecticism seizes the dining room by
mixing the asian lines of the chairs, the contemporary character of the
sculptural ceiling lamp, the classic soul of the bureau and the spirit of the
vintage collection of paintings and ethnic objects, as taken from an old chest
of treasures. The carpet imposes the necessary geometric duality between the
modern and the timeless in their black and white stripes.
The living room
The earth colors, textures and the worn warm
details make up a living designed to relax. The large size and generous
luminosity of the living room allow the harmonious integration of very various
furniture and accessories without losing the feeling of spaciousness. The
tissues of cushions and the large carpet acclimatized room, framing a huge
corner sofa, an armchair and a retro coffee table modern. Natural Ornaments
(pots of stone, lamp of macramé, flowers and plants) give the note wabi-sabi to
the environment.black and white.
Behind the wooden doors are the television and the music player,
which would upset the naturalistic aesthetics if they find themselves in the
light. For the modular rustic wood was elected, with captivating blue details.
The kitchen
The heat of the wood is the protagonist of a
uncomplicated cuisine, where peasant coexists the flavor with the neat lines of
the modern decor. The Eames chairs provide the hue of the vintage decor, which
in its natural detail reminds us of the delicious oriental cuisine.
The master bedroom
The attractive handloom fabrics from
the entry, dining room and living room are also a place of privilege in the
matrimonial bedroom, giving warmth and color in the bedding and carpets. The
soul of middle is present in the bed of floating platform, absolutely relaxing.
Enriched with the half-heartedness of the wood, the room is complete with
bedside tables well simple, an armchair retro, walls in natural color and a
great window into a garden of bamboo.
The child s bedroom
The aesthetic wabi-sabi also
continues in the fourth child, ornamented with soft colors, rich fabrics and
simple furnishings. The bunk bed leaves much room for free play.
The bathroom
The soft wood of the bathroom transports us
to a relaxing atmosphere typically Japanese. The pure lines play with the
natural colors in the sink area and in the impressive bathtub next to the
window.
The patio
from almost all the windows of the home you can
see this bright patio, scenario games and meetings. Rocks and stones are
inspired by the Japanese gardens, while the design with steps give extra seating
when there are many people enjoying the shade of the trees. Wicker chairs give
the dye and informal perfect picnic.
